Not an up-grade for existing lights, but a completely new, programmmable family of lights with the following capabilities.

1. At full power (230W, 95% efficiency, so much cooler)these lights use 50% less power than metal halide lights consuming 460 W (400 W for the light, 60 W for the gear), with an efficiency of only around 67%, while delivering 20% more light. Compared with  conventional fluorescent lighting, replacement on a 1:3 or 1:4 basis is normal.
2. Programmabole occupancy sensor.  
   For example in Warehouses, areas are often empty for long periods.  Metal halide lights have to burn constantly, as they require time to warm up when switched on. with the occupancy sensor, the light switches on immediately someone approaches, and switches off again after a programmable delay. Switched off  =100% saving.
3. Programmable light strength.  If the sun shines in, the unit can dim, or switch off, as long as the programmed minimum lighting level at the work surface is exceeded.
4. Evenly distributed, non-dazzle light thanks to new, patented reflector technology, for mounting from 5 to 16 metres high.
5. With the burning time 200% longer than with metal halide, the maintenance costs are reduced by 66% - running at full power. Dimming extends the life.

Alternative to switching off, the occupancy sensor can be programmed to dim, so leaving a lower light level, if this is prefered. The combined effect of both sensor features has, in practice, resulted in a saving of 69% power in a do-it-yourself market and 79% in warehouses. (And further savings in maintenance.)

The Intelli-Light units have patented reflectors made out of Miro, a German material with a reflection efficiency of 98%, compared with silver. 94% of the generated light is "delivered" to the working surface, compared with 40-65% with 400W metal halide units (and even less with 1000 W metal halide).

The AS-units consist of a case, either about 110 x 40 cm with 4 lamps or 110 x 60 cm with 6. The Lido models have either 2 or four lamps. Both models can be delivered with either wide or narrow beams, depending on the mounting height. The AS case is made from zinc-plated steel, painted white.
